Some Traditions Begin Long Before December

If you've been around The Bear & Fox Yarn Den™ for a while, you know that we have a habit of starting holiday projects long before most people are thinking about them.

Today, we're delighted to officially announce that our 2026 Holiday Gift Calendar is now available for preorder.

Every calendar is assembled by hand here at the shop, which, if history is any indication, means Justin will once again be spending quality time with his LEGO-powered yarn-winding machine. Every compartment is filled one surprise at a time, creating a month of yarn-inspired delight leading up to the holidays.

One of the happiest surprises so far has been seeing how many familiar names have appeared in our preorder list. Several of the very first reservations came from makers who joined us last year and wanted to make our Holiday Gift Calendar part of their tradition once again. There is no greater compliment than that.

If this is your first time hearing about it, our Holiday Gift Calendar is our inclusive take on the traditional yarn advent calendar. Whether you're counting down to Christmas, celebrating Yule, observing Hanukkah, or simply looking forward to up to a month filled with beautiful yarn and creative surprises, we hope it brings a little extra magic to your season.

Because every calendar is assembled by hand, we can only make a limited number each year. Last year we capped production at 50 calendars. This year, we're hoping to create 100. Once our production schedule is full, reservations will close.
