The days are getting longer and the sun is shining a little more often here in Allegan! Spring break is coming up quickly and we just wanted to give you a heads up on our hours. It's just a slight change in that it will be regular hours all week EXCEPT on the first three Thursdays. So it looks like this:
- Sunday - Monday: closed
- Tuesday: 2pm to 8pm
- Wednesday: 11am to 5pm
- Thursdays March the 5th, 12th, & 19th: closed
- Friday-Saturday: 11am to 5pm
We are so eager for spring at The Bear & Fox! If you’re not local, don’t worry — the online shop remains open 24/7.

Status Report (with apologies to Picard & Janeway)
We have seen some things flying off the shelves this month! Here are a few of the most popular items that we have seen go out the door (and we have shipped across the country) - all images are clickable:
Boubou & Soul from Punk Rock Unicorn (PRU)
Last we heard there are only four yarn shops in the USA that carry PRU and we are so proud to be one of them. They are shaking up the hand-dyed world with rich saturated colors and combinations that stop you in your tracks. We have three of their lines on the shelves and two of them have been very popular!
Boubou is a 100% merino boucle that is so darned squishy!
Soul is an amazing sockweight yarn that knits & crochets up beautifully!
Queensland Coastal Cotton
Another yarn that's hot right now is the Queensland Coastal Cotton. I guess everyone else is as eager as we are to move into Spring! When we first saw a sample of this yarn we gasped. We had never seen 100% be so soft and squishy with such lovely colors. Soooo, we may have gone overboard and added 40 colors of it to the store! Ok by "we" I mean me (Drew) - Justin does his best to manage the mishchief around here but hey, I know a special yarn when I see one and this is one is amazing!
Jody Long Diva
And finally I cannot gatekeep this new yarn that we have just stocked. Literally it's been on our shelves for less than a month and it is a top seller already. It's Diva from Jody Long. Diva lives up to its name - elegant, confident, and effortlessly eye-catching. This lightweight yarn blends soft cotton with subtle shimmer, creating fabric that feels cool and breathable while catching the light just enough to feel special. Everyone who touches it says "ooooOOOoooh". True story.
Making Room For Spring
All joking aside, it truly is time to make room for spring. It's well on its way (and maybe has already sprung where you live). Here at The Den we are making the transition as gently as we can, even with the eagerness that surrounds it, we don't want to miss out on enjoying the signs that spring is coming. As we watch for the first crocus or daffodil to pop up we can't help but feel grateful for how so much snow that we saw this winter and how it will help the farmers, crops, and river/lake levels all around us.
