A Note from the Den

Dear friends,

The last couple of weeks at The Bear & Fox Yarn Den have left us smiling in that quiet, lingering way—the kind that sneaks up on you later, when you realize something special is taking root.

We’ve had moments recently where Justin and I looked around the shop and noticed that it didn’t need us to run it—it was simply being. Conversations flowed, tables filled with stitches, music drifted through the room, and people made themselves at home. That’s a feeling we don’t take lightly, and it’s one we’re holding close as we head deeper into winter.

The Den of Cheer

This month’s window theme, The Den of Cheer, came from a simple desire: to create a place that feels warm when the days grow shorter and the world feels a little louder. Cheer doesn’t have to be flashy or forced—it can be found in a mug of something warm, a familiar chair, a project in progress, or the comfort of sitting beside someone who understands the joy of making things by hand.

The Den of Cheer isn’t just what you see in the window; it’s what happens inside the shop every day. And lately, it’s been showing up in the most meaningful ways.

Community Moments Worth Celebrating

Several of our recent classes have sold out, and watching those tables fill with learning, laughter, and shared “aha” moments has been incredibly rewarding. Whether someone is picking up a hook or needles for the first time or refining a skill they’ve been practicing for years, there’s something powerful about learning together.

We’re especially grateful to our Cubs & Kits community, who continue to show up, stitch alongside one another, and quietly help make the Den feel like home—not just for themselves, but for everyone who walks through the door.

A Little Something Brewing

Behind the scenes, there’s been some building, some planning, and more than a few moments of creative excitement. We’re not quite ready to reveal everything yet, but we can say this: the coming months will bring new ways to gather, listen, learn, and share within these walls.

Consider this a gentle teaser—one that rewards curiosity and patience.

A Winter Note

As we move further into winter, we want to care for our community the same way we care for the Den itself. On days when local schools are closed due to weather, we’ll also be keeping the shop closed. It’s our way of prioritizing safety, warmth, and well-being—for all of us.

When the weather cooperates, we’ll be here with the lights on, the door open, and the kettle ready.

Thank you for being part of this growing story. Whether you visit often or read along from afar, you are part of what makes The Bear & Fox Yarn Den what it is—and what it’s becoming.

With gratitude and cheer,

Drew & Justin
